Breast cancer is the most common form of invasive cancer diagnosed in women, and despite advances in therapeutic strategies, approximately 10% of women with breast tumors will experience locoregional recurrence. Therefore, we have identified the presence of nuclear hormone receptors, including the androgen and estrogen receptors, as potential therapeutic targets that may be aiding in the response to ionizing radiation.
