During my thesis I explored the superconducting state of UPt3 and PdTe2 using a scanning SQUID microscope.UPt3 is a heavy fermion (large effective electron masses) compound that orders weakly antiferromagnetically at T_N=5 K before it becomes superconducting at T_c=550 mK. Its unique T-H phase diagram presents 3 superconducting phases. The superconducting order parameter changes its symmetry in each phase. This may be explained by chiral superconductivity in presence of a symmetry breaking field (SBF). The antiferromagnetic order can play the role of the SBF.
