In this paper I try to make sense of the idea of artistic luck, which may be conceived by analogy to the idea of ‘moral luck’. I begin by considering what I call artistic luck in general (\ua7 2). Then I discuss artistic luck proper (\ua7 3) and the cases of ‘intentional’ artistic luck and improvisation (\ua7 4). In \ua7 5 I focus on the problems generated by aleatoric art. I will conclude by endorsing Adorno’s reasonable opinion on the relation between art and chance (\ua7 6)
