This thesis seeks to explore, analyze and interpret Kuwait’s unique role in supporting the Palestinian national struggle in relation to the country’s foreign policy drivers. It posits Kuwait’s existential threat from Iraq and its geographic remoteness from the frontlines of the Arab–Israeli conflict as key geopolitical factors that shaped Kuwait’s policies toward the Palestinian cause. It also examines internal dynamics—namely the concentration of a large cadre of Palestinian professionals and a pan-Arab oriented population—that contributed to steering the country’s particular engagement and attitude in support of the Palestinian national struggle
