This dataset introduces the gene database of the human pathogen, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Original data comes from the Genbank annotated genome, which was parsed by an in-house MATLAB genome analysis software to yield gene identifier, gene function, and gene sequence for each gene in the genome of the bacterium. It is hoped that this dataset will constitute a useful resource to spur more research into understanding the environmental lifestyle and pathogenesis mechanisms of this important human pathogen.</p
