The COVID-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact on societies worldwide. As epidemics are only partially observed processes characterized by non-linear dynamics, their study requires the development of appropriate statistical and mathematical models to capture their complexity. The aim of this thesis is to develop modelling analyses to characterize the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in France as well as the impact of different interventions.In a first part, we estimated the burden of SARS-CoV-2 in France at the end of the first lockdown in spring 2020.
