Low-Carbohydrate Diets (LCDs) are becoming increasingly popular to manage Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, there is a need to identify people with T2DM's understanding of LCDs, their reasons for engaging in such a diet, how they sustain it and any challenges they face. This study aimed to assess the experience of adhering to a LCD within a sample of individuals with T2DM. Ten participants with T2DM were recruited using a self-selecting sampling method from an online diabetes community that promotes LCDs.
