Subnational variation in the Female Empowerment Index (FEMI) and the six empowerment domains across 39 countries in SSA. Subnational variation for each country was expressed as the difference between the 10th and 90th percentile scores for first-level subdivisions. Boxplots express the range of variation between countries.</p
