International audienceThe article consists of an epistemic genealogy work on the notion of the subject in the texts considered seminal by participants ofthe Decolonial Turn. In historical order of publication, the terms that belong to this semantic field (subjection, subjectivity, subjectivation) are mentioned in the texts of the authors and the authoress of the seminal notions: intellectual colonialism (Orlando Fals-Borda, 1970); mestiza consciousness (Gloria Anzaldúa, 1987), coloniality (Aníbal Quijano, 1992) and transmodernity (Enrique Dussel, 1992).
