International audienceThis papers puts forward a unified approach of two well known peculiarities of Gascon.: - its imperfect tense of athematic verbs in -è -(or -èva) instead of -iá in general Occitan("avè" 'he had' instead of oc.com. "aviá"),- the Gascon form of the sufix proceeding of latin -ARIU, -ARIA, viz -èr, -èra (or -èr, -èira) instead of -ièr, -ièira and variant forms in general Occitan. In order for such a unifiied approach to be possible, the evolution of -ARIU in Occitan must be considered endogenious and phonetic (as opposed to borrowed or analogical). It also relies on the assumption that the Gascon treatment of the diphthong [aj] ("hèit" < *"hait" de FACTU), a treatment which is sometime said "Iberic") be relatively recent and owe its wide scope effect to its recentness (being fed by other phonetic processes yielding occurrences of [aj]).L'article propose un traitement unifié de deux spécificités de l'occitan gascon: - son imparfait athématique en -è -(ou -èva) en face de -iá en occitan commun ("avè" 'il avait' pour oc.com.
