Protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMT) are involved in many cellular processes, including gene expression regulation, splicing control, maintenance of genome integrity and signal transduction.Since deregulation of those biological processes appears to be implicated in the pathogenesis of different diseases, PRMTs have emerged as potential new targets for the development of novel therapeutic modulators.
