This project intends to present a modeling and simulation approach for voltage-source converter based HVDC (VSC-HVDC) Transmission System with various types of DC Links e.g., Monopolar, Bipolar, Homopolar. Power System Block (PSB) in MATLAB / Simulink helps creating detailed simulation models of high voltage direct current (HVDC) and its controllers. The basic theory and schematic structure of HVDC power transmission will be simulated in this project. The system reactions to steady state, the step of current reference, and the DC transmission line to ground fault are the parameters of interests for this model.
