Referential integrity or the "broken-link problem" has been one of the most persistent issues with the Web. This paper describes how LifeWeb, an object-oriented data model for the Web document system, handles referential integrity by a combined technique of local link management and dynamic link binding. Using these techniques LifeWeb can potentially maintain local link integrity and ensure that all hyperlinks in a document are rendered valid
