Breast cancer (BC) represents a highly heterogeneous tumour at both the clinical and molecular levels. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the folate-metabolising enzyme methylenetetrahydrofolate- reductase (MTHFR) may modify the association between folate intake and BC and influence plasma folate concentration.
