Potencialidades do humor gráfico no ensino e na aprendizagem da Matemática

Considering that the teaching-learning of Mathematics benefits from establishing connections with the students’ reality and organizing itself around the resolution and discussion of challenging and motivating mathematical tasks, we believe that humour about Mathematics, especially graphic humour, has good conditions to fulfil these two aspects. Thus, in this conference, we propose to discuss: humour (in particular, graphic humour) and its social functions; humour in education and, in particular, in Mathematics and in Mathematics classes; conceptions and practices of Mathematics teachers on the use of humour in teaching the subject; and, potentialities of mathematical tasks that we have been drawing from strips and humorous cartoons about Mathematics.Tendo em conta que o ensino-aprendizagem da Matemática beneficia de se estabelecerem conexões com a realidade dos alunos e de se organizar em torno da resolução e discussão de tarefas matemáticas desafiantes e motivadoras, acreditamos que o humor sobre a Matemática, especialmente o gráfico, tem boas condições para cumprir estes dois aspetos. Assim, nesta conferência, propomo-nos discutir: o humor (em particular, o gráfico) e as suas funções sociais; o humor na educação e, em particular, na Matemática e nas aulas de Matemática; conceções e práticas de professores de Matemática sobre o uso de humor no ensino da disciplina; e, potencialidades de tarefas matemáticas que temos vindo a desenhar a partir de tiras e cartoons humorísticos sobre Matemática.
