Synaptic plasticity is a biological mechanism, integrating neuronal activity in the evolution of recurrent connections between neurons. Spike-timing dependent plasticity (STDP) represents all plasticity mechanisms that depends on the timings of the pre- and postsynaptic spikes. We have developed a general class of models to reproduce different STDP rules in a stochastic setting, modeling spike trains as point processes. Synaptic plasticity is a slow process, compared to neuronal activity, supporting an analysis of this system using slow-fast theory. Adding regularity hypotheses, we prove a convergence theorem in the slow-fast limit, and apply it to different sets of STDP rules. A theoretical and numerical analysis of the synaptic weight asy...
