The overarching aim of this thesis is to design, implement and compare different energy management strategies and optimisation approaches for a hybrid system involving floating tidal stream energy integration with green hydrogen production. Towards reaching the objectives, the individual system components are modelled initially. The annual system performance capabilities of the tidal stream energy plant are then obtained using frequently occurring daily profiles at the Fall of Warness berth in the Orkney Islands, Scotland.
