International audienceBased on VLT UVES high-resolution spectroscopy of individual red giant branch stars in four LMC three SMC and three Fornax Globular Clusters we present precise metallicities and abundance ratios of key elements in these clusters. We discuss the similarities and differences between these local group globular clusters and their Milky-Way counterparts with two different goals: to understand the formation mechanism of halos and globular clusters (are all globular clusters in the Milky-Way and its satellites drawn from the same population ?) and to explore the origin of O-Na-Mg-Al abundance anomalies in globular clusters
