International audienceToday’s memorial laws prescribe not to wound “witnesses”, be they direct victims or descendants of victims. This could be considered as yet another step towards the construction of a “compassionate” history. In the sphere of the media, a new type of “witness” could emerge, commemorating the remembrance of something he/she has not lived through.
