International audienceWe present JHK imaging and photometry of two compact Hii regions in the Magellanic Clouds (SMC N81 and LMC N159) using the ISAAC camera at the ESO VLT (Antu). These data complement our previous HST observations and unveil several enshrouded stars. Our analysis shows that the N81 field has three distinct evolved stellar populations, whereas N159 is more homogeneous
