This cross-sectional quantitative study was designed to investigate the differences among self-beliefs, creative potential, and creative achievement in EFE writing among ELL university students (N=156) with different language backgrounds. We identified three groups of students based on their language background: monolingual ELL (n=59), bilingual/multilingual ELL (n=18) and multiple foreign language users (n=79).
