Green computing is a relatively new research area, which studies the energy efficiency of softwares. Some popular languages have already been examined in respect of energy consumption. On the contrary, Erlang has not been researched from this aspect, despite being a widely used functional programming language. Correspondingly, this work focuses on Erlang and investigates the effect of different language constructs, data structures and styles of programming on energy usage
