The Probability Density Functions to Diameter Distributions for Scots Pine Oriental Beech and Mixed Stands

Bir meşceredeki çap dağılımının belirlenmesi ve bunun yetişme ortamı verim gücü, yaş, sıklık derecesi ve karışım oranı ile ilişkileri hem biyolojik hem de ekonomik açıdan oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, Karadeniz Bölgesi sınırları içerisinde yer alan eşityaşlı Sarıçam (Pinus sylvestris L.) - Doğu Kayını (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) karışık meşcerelerinin çap dağılımlarının ortaya konulması amacıyla, 162 örnek alan verisi kullanılarak; 2 parametreli Gamma, 3 Parametreli Gamma, Beta, Log-normal, Normal, 2 Parametreli Weibull, 3 Parametreli Weibull ve Johnson SB fonksiyonları olmak üzere 8 farklı olasılık yoğunluk fonksiyonuna ilişkin parametre değerleri tahmin edilmiştir. Olasılık yoğunluk fonksiyonlarının meşcerelerin çap dağılımlarını temsil etmede başarıları, Rennolds (1985) tarafından geliştirilen hata indeksi kullanılarak karşılaştırılmış ve her iki tür için de 4 parametreli Johnson SB olasılık yoğunluk fonksiyonun örnek alanlardaki çap dağılımlarının ortaya konulmasında en uygun fonksiyon olduğu belirlenmiştir.The determining the diameter distribution of a stand and its relations with stand ages, site index, density and mixture percentage is very important both biologically and economically. The Weibull with two parameters, Weibull with three parameters, Gamma with two parameters, Gamma with three parameters, Beta, Lognormal with two parameters, Lognormal with three parameters, Normal, Johnson SB probability density functions were used to determination of diameter distributions. This study aimed to compared based on performance of describing different diameter distribution and to describe the best successful function of diameter distributions. The data were obtaited from 162 temporary sample plots measured Scots pine and Oriental beech mixed stands in Black Sea Region. The results show that four parameter Johnson SB function for both scots pine and oriental beech is the best successful function to describe diameter distributions based on error index values calculated by difference between observed and predicted diameter distributions
