Two small populations of this taxon of hybrid origin, introduced in cultivation for production of combustible oilseeds in several countries of the Mediterranean region, including Sicily, have been found growing in hemerophilous conditions at the borders of the A.19 Palermo-Catania motorway, in locality Tremonzelli (Central Sicily)
