Agrofood sector and biowaste management are crucial for sustainable development at local, regional and global level. The purpose of the present paper is to analyse if Life Cycle Assessment is a useful tool to define and to measure performances of Sustainable Development Goals related to food waste at territorial level. A short systematic review of 89 Italian papers in the last 10 years is conducted. Studies analysed cover many steps of life cycle. Economic, social, and institutional aspects assessed by LCA studies are shown and many other environmental tools that overlap (Circular Economy, Environmental Footprinting, etc.) are presented.
