This Ph.D. thesis describes the versatility of metal complexes with tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPMA) based ligands to be used either as self-assembling molecular scaffolds with application on molecular recognition and chiroptical probing, or as active catalysts in atom transfer radical polymerization and hydrogen evolving catalysis reactions. Quantitative chirality determination is fundamental due to the broad effect that stereochemistry has in many different scientific fields.
