The finite element model for the nonlinear transverse vibration of the beam was implemented in the program NLB This program was used to calculate the steady state response of the beam. The numerical results from the program were compared to the experimental results obtained by Malatkar (2003). The NLBprogram was also used to calculate the transient response of the beam, which was compared with the response obtained with ANSYS
