Accessibility and connectivity: the factors of the reconstruction and fruition of the cultural heritage of the city of Viterbo

Il contributo presenta i prototipi tecnologici prodotti dal gruppo di ricerca dell’Università della Tuscia nell’ambito del progetto EcoDigit del Distretto Tecnologico per i Beni e le attività Culturali, della Regione Lazio (DTC-Lazio). Il lavoro ha condotto un’attenta analisi territoriale finalizzata alla ricostruzione in GIS del patrimonio culturale della città di Viterbo distrutto o danneggiato dai bombardamenti durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Particolare attenzione è stata rivolta al tema della accessibilità con l’idea di realizzare un modello 3D della Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Fortezze di Viterbo per esaminare le potenzialità di fruizione in ambiente di realtà virtuale.The contribution presents the technological prototypes produced by the research group of the University of Tuscia as part of the EcoDigit project of the Technological District for Cultural Heritage and Activities, of the Lazio Region (DTC-Lazio). The research conducted a careful territorial analysis aimed at the reconstruction in GIS of the cultural heritage of the city of Viterbo destroyed or damaged by bombing during the Second World War. Particular attention was given to the issue of accessibility with the idea of creating a 3D model of the Church of Santa Maria delle Fortezze in Viterbo to examine the potential for use in a virtual reality environment
