Il saggio traccia un confronto tra la teoria delle emozioni di Dewey e quella, più recente, di Martha Nussbaum, focalizzando in particolare il ruolo della dimensione della corporeità nell’esperienza umana delle emozioni. La tenuta delle teorie presentate è saggiata dall’autrice attraverso l’analisi di un breve racconto di Umberto Saba, Ernesto, che Dreon assume a esempio pertinente di una via linguistico-narrativa per l’espressione dei fenomeni emotivi.
