Interlingual homonymys in linguodidaktic aspect (teaching Ukrainian to Polish students)

The article focuses on interlingual homonyms, i.e. the words which have the same or a similar form in both languages, but differ by meaning. The phenomenon of homonymy often becomes a reason in multiplying mistakes in the process of learning a foreign language, especially in case of closely related languages like Polish and Ukrainian. Frequently, the mistakes occur with incomplete homonymic pairs, i.e. those which do not fully coincide in meaning. The lexical similarity of such pairs becomes the reason of language interference as well as replacement of meanings which do not exist in Ukrainian. This type of mistakes has a tendency to become long-lasting (or even permanent) and typical for the students at the advanced levels of language learning. The author provides examples of such mistakes and ways of dealing with them in class.Статтю присвячено міжмовним омонімам, тобто словам двох мов, які мають однакову (або близьку) форму, але різняться значенням. Саме міжмовна омонімія стає частою причиною помилок при вивченні мов, особливо близькоспоріднених, як польська та українська. Найчастіше помилки зумовлюють неповні омонімічні пари, тобто такі, які лише частково покриваються у значенні. Лексична подібність таких слів стає причиною інтерференції та переносу з польської мови в українську не лише подібних, але й відсутніх у ній значень. Лексичні помилки, в основі яких лежить неповна міжмовна омонімія, мають стійкий характер, важко піддаються коректі і залишаються у мовленнєвій практиці наших студентів навіть на старших курсах. У статті наведено кілька прикладів таких помилок, запропоновано, як працювати над їх усуненням
