The notion of certainty perceived traditionally is closely related to the truth as either something that describes the truth or something that is derived from it. In the article I consider the question of the understanding of certainty in Martin Heidegger's major work "Being and Time". We can find there a completely new understanding of certainty, which is the result of the change in the approach to the fundamental metaphysical questions.
