DESAIN PENGELOLAAN WILAYAH PESISIR PANTAI BERBASIS MASYARAKAT

Coastal areas have abundant natural resources that can be managed to improve the welfare of the community. Problems that occur in coastal areas is also very complex, economic, social, and cultural. This study aims to determine the design of coastal zone management and program management. This study was conducted in Hamlet Mancingan XI, Parangtritis Subdistrict, Kretek, Bantul DIY. The collection of data carried out by interview, documentation, and dissemination of the questionnaire. Interviews were conducted with community leaders and government agencies in a forum group discussion (FGD). Mancingan XI has the potential of natural resources such as beaches, sand dunes, agriculture, and culture that attract tourists. Coordinating the management of coastal areas in Hamlet Mancingan XI has not gone well, there is overlapping of interests among government agencies. An appropriate model for the management of coastal areas in Hamlet Mancingan XI is to involve the community with development community empowerment programs through community organizations. An appropriate empowerment model for the management in Hamlet Mancingan XI is stem model. The organization should be supported by the government and accompaniment from experts. Empowerment programs that can be developed in Hamlet Mancingan XI include: (1) The development of the organization; (2) Conservation of cultural values and strengthening the character of the community; (3) The development of the public economy; (4) Conservation of natural resources
