En la presente tesis se estudia el efecto del soporte : Alúmina, sílice, zirconia y titania, en catalizadores de Pd y Ni en la hidrogenación selectiva de estireno a etilbenceno. Los catalizadores fueron preparados por impregnación por humedad incipiente e intercambio iónico. Mediante el agregado de Na a la alúmina se obtuvieron diferentes perfiles de paladio en la partícula, debido a cambios en la solubilidad precursor-soporte. Dado que es abundante la literatura en la cual se observan diferencias en el comportamiento catalítico para un dado metal y diferentes soportes, se ha intentado explicar la performance catalítica en base al grado de interacción metal-soporte.
