En esta tesis doctoral se aportan avances en el desarrollo de modelos y metodologías de optimización de plantas batch multiproducto. Como primer aporte, se desarrollaron modelos lineales que abordan simultáneamente las decisiones de diseño y planeamiento de la producción enmarcados en un escenario multiperiodo. De esta manera, se consideran variaciones de precios, costos y demandas de productos en cada periodo debido a razones estacionales y/o de mercado. Se estudian además las interacciones entre las decisiones de diseño y las de planeamiento.
