Bu tez çalışması BAP tarafından 2012FBE013 nolu proje ile desteklenmiştir.Bu çalışmada, yağlı tohumlu bitkilerden Carthamus tinctorius (aspir), Helianthus annuus (ayçiçeği), Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba), Brassica napus (kanola/Kolza), Glycine max (soya) ve Sesamum indicum (susam) tohumlarında 0 (kontrol), 100, 200, 300, 400 ve 500 Gy olmak üzere beş farklı dozda sezyum-137 (Cs137) kaynağı kullanılarak gama radyasyon uygulaması yapılmıştır. Radyasyon uygulaması sonrası tohumların ham yağ verimleri ekstraksiyon yöntemi ile tespit edilmiştir. Gama radyasyon uygulanmayan kontrol grupları hariç ham yağ verimleri % 8.45 ile %46.84 arasında olduğu gözlenmiştir.
