Synthesis of star-shaped Triazine Monomers, Electrochemical and Electrochromic applications

Bu çalışmada, yeni yıldız şekilli monomerler 2,4,6-tris((9H-karbazol-2 il)oksi)-1,3,5-triazin (CTR) ve 2,4,6-tris(2-(9H-karbazol-9-il)etoksi)- 1,3,5-triazin(TCZ) sentezlenmiştir. CTR’ nin elektrokimyasal polimerizasyonu boron triflorür dietil eterat (BFEE)/ asetonitril (ACN) çözücü çiftinde TCZ’nin ise ACN içinde yapılmıştır. Elektrokimyasal yolla hazırlanan P(CTR) ve PTCZ filmler CV, SEM, FTIR ve TGA ile karakterize edilmiştir. Dönüşümlü Voltametre (CV) ve UV-VIS Spektrofotometresi kullanılarak monomerlerin elektrokimyasal davranışı ve iletken polimerlerin redox tepkimeleri belirlendi. Polimer filmlerinin yüzey morfolojisi Taramalı Elektron Mikroskopu (SEM) ile incelendi. Sentezlenen iletken polimerlerin elektrokromik özellikleri spektroelektrokimyasal, kinetik ve kolorimetrik çalışmalarla araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca hem monomerlerin hem de polimerlerin ısısal karakterizasyonu Termogravimetrik Analiz (TGA) ve Diferansiyel Termal Analiz (DTA) kullanılarak belirlemeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci kısmında PEDOT kullanılarak elektrokromik cihaz kurulumu gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elektrokromik çalışmalarda redoks renk bakımından P(CTR) ve PTCZ’nin EDOT’a ters özelliklere sahip olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Cihazın karakterizasyonu spektroelektrokimya, optik kontrast, tepki süresi ve redoks kararlılığı ile incelenmiştir.A new star shape monomers, 2,4,6-tris((9H-carbazol-2-yl)oxy)-1,3,5-triazine (CTR) and, 2,4,6-tris(2-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)ethoxy)-1,3,5-triazine (TCZ) were synthesized. CTR was electrochemically polymerized in boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFEE)/acetonitrile (ACN) solvent couple. TCZ was electrochemically polymerized in ACN solvent. Electrochemically prepared P(CTR) and PTCZ films were characterized via CV, SEM, FTIR, and TGA. Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Ultraviolet–Visible Spectroscopy were used to investigate electrochemical behavior of the monomers and redox reactions of conducting polymers. Surface morphologies of the polymer films were investigated by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Electrochromic properties of the conducting polymers were investigated via spectroelectrochemistry, kinetic and colorimetry studies. Besides thermal characterization of both monomer and polymer were tried to determine by using Thermogravimetric Analysis(TGA) and Differential Thermal Analysis (TGA). Second part of the study, by using PEDOT construction of electrochromic device was achieved. Electrochromic studies revealed that P(CTR) and PTCZ have opposite properties to EDOT in terms of redox color. Characterizations of the device were performed in term of spectroelectrochemistry, optical contrast, switching times and redox stability
