Üzümsü meyveler, oldukça kısa raf ömrüne sahip, kolay bozulabilen gıdalardandır. Gıda endüstrisi için nispeten yeni bir dezenfektan olan ozon, bazı taze meyve ve sebzelerin raf ömrünün uzatılması amacıyla denenmiş ve üzümsü meyveler dâhil birçok üründe başarılı sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, taze karadut meyvesinin bazı önemli kalite parametrelerindeki değişimler, normal hava ve ozon atmosferinde (0,3 ve 2,4 ppm) 2⁰C’de ve %95 bağıl nemde 6 gün süren depolama boyunca incelenmiştir.
