Problem of research – what is the situation of physical education in Klaipėda and Klaipėda district general education y schools. The aim of the research is to reveal the situation of physical education from the point of view of teachers in Klaipėda and Klaipėda district general education schools. Research tasks: 1. To examine the attitude of physical education teachers of Klaipėda city and district to the assessment of students' achievements; 2. To reveal the attitude of physical education teachers of Klaipėda city and district to the content of physical education; 3. To determine the attitude of physical education teachers of Klaipėda city and district about the physical education environment in the school; 4. To characterize the attitude of physical education teachers of Klaipėda city and district about the means of physical education at school; 5. To describe the attitude of physical education teachers of Klaipėda city and district about working with physically weaker students. Research method: questionnaire survey, statistical analysis. Main results. All interviewed teachers include team and individual games in physical education lessons; all Klaipėda district and the majority of city teachers also have physical education classes outside. The majority of teachers assess students' knowledge of techniques and tactics, as well as physical fitness during physical education lessons. Conclusions of the work: The attitude of physical education teachers of general education schools of Klaipėda city and district towards the assessment of students' achievements is similar. The attitude of physical education teachers of Klaipėda city and district to the content of physical education does not differ significantly. The attitude of both samples towards the teaching environment does not differ significantly and is favorable. The attitude of teachers of Klaipėda city and district about the status of physical education at school differs significantly. The attitude of both samples towards the quantity of physical education means does not differ significantly (assessed as good), but the attitude towards physical education means‘ quality in schools differs significantly (city teachers assess it well, and district teachers assess it as average)
