Effect of dual-task in physical therapy on balance and cognitive functions in Parkinson's disease in the elderly

Object of the research is to find out the effect of the dual-task on the balance and cognitive functions of the people with Parkinson‘s disease. Problem of the research is to improve the quality of motor and cognitive functions of the people with Parkinson‘s disease using combined physical therapy programs. Aim of the final work: To evaluate the effect of dual-task in physical therapy on the balance and cognitive functions of Parkinson‘s disease in the eldery. Tasks: 1. To evaluate the balance of the people with Parkinson‘s disease before and after physical therapy. 2. To evaluate the cognitive functions of the people with Parkinson‘s disease before and after physical therapy. 3. To determine the effect of the dual-task on balance and cognitive functions for individuals with Parkinson‘s disease. Hypothesis of the reserach: the results of the motor and cognitive functions for individuals with Parkinson‘s disease will be significantly better after physical therapy with the program‘s given tasks for the development of the cognitive functions than after the ordinary physical therapy. Methods of the research: 1. “Berg balance Scale”; 2. ‘Timed Up and Go“ test; 3. (2MWT) 2 minutes test; 4. Functional movement test, (W. Kaitel.et al., 1971); 5. Montreal (MoCA) test. Results: The indicators of balance, gait, coordination and functional mobility of the people with Parkinson‘s disease have significantly (p<0,05) improved after different types of physical therapy programs.
