In this paper, we investigate wage distribution in the private and public sector for both male and female employees in Turkey. We follow the human capital theory and adopt mincerian wage equations by using quantile regression to develop a more detailed picture of various factors in wage determination. The paper describes the effects of schooling on the conditional wage distribution in each sector. We investigate that wage distribution is sensitive to the choice of quantile for both public and private sector. We find that there is no considerable wage differences between male and female employees working in the same position in the public sector.
