The thesis shows the realization of a new machine for real-time monitoring system of hematic parameters for extra-corporeal treatments. The system is optimized for hemodialysis and its measurements of Hematocrit (Hct), Oxygen saturation (sO2) are based on spectral acquisition of the blood. Machine learning algorithms have been developed to directly extract the parameter levels from visible spectra, in order to obtain prediction of hematocrits and oxygen saturation with high precision. The setup, which has been completely developed during my thesis, includes a white high-power LED, a commercial mini-spectrometer, a fiber optic and a microcontroller.
