Analisis Pemikiran Muhammad Natsir Tentang Negara Islam

Extensive research has been done under the title “An analysis of Muhammad Natsir’s thought towards the Islamic State”. The question that has answered in this research is therefore, how to analyze the thought of Muhammad Natsir towards the Islamic state by interrelating it to the context of contemporary political reality in Indonesian. The method used in this research is library research. This research was conducted by relying on library data. Consequently, this research focused on the study of texts whose entire substance is processed both philosophically and theoretically by utilizing resources such as books, journals, magazines, articles, or other reference data which correlated with Muhammad Natsir’s thought towards Islamic state. In this study, it was found that Muhammad Natsir’s though about Islamic state were associated with the context of contemporary political reality in Indonesian. This idea has shaped a space where the democracy in state life has recently been criticized. However, on the other hand, the implementation of the theistic idea of democracy experienced various political problems which resulted Muhammad Natsir’s thought and idea being neither accommodated nor reformulated by the populist Islamic political actors. Thus, the conclusion of this research is that during the old-ordered period the presidency of Soekarno, new-ordered era during the presidency of Soeharto as well as Jokowi’s era, Islamic political community that struggled for a private agenda known as Islamic politic did not get an ideal place in the national political constellation. Furthermore, the Islamic political parties have lost support, on the other hand emerging the political domination of the nationalist communities. Islamic populism movement in point of fact did not get the sympathy of the entire Muslim community; even some Islamic mass organizations were disbanded and did not get support from the government and TNI-POLRI (Indonesian national army- Indonesian national police)
