TERAPI ICE MASSAGE PADA PASIEN NY. R DENGAN LOWER BACK PAIN DALAM MENGURANGI MASALAH KEPERAWATAN NYERI AKUT (Studi Kasus Di Ruang Mawar RSU Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang)

Introduction: As many as 100 million American adults complain of pain with complaints of low back pain as much as 28.1%. In Indonesia the prevalence of Lower Back Pain ranges from 7.6% to 37% of the total population of Indonesia. Ice Massage Therapy is a therapy to relieve pain from low back pain patients by massaging pieces of pure ice cubes on the patient's pain area Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of Ice Massage therapy in changing the intensity of pain in low back pain patients Methods: This study uses a case study research design involving 1 respondent. Sample inclusion criteria were patients with lower back pain at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang Hospital with mild-moderate pain scale (scale 1-6) and patients who did not have complications. Ice massage is given by gluing and massaging the painful area for 8-10 minutes with ice cubes Results: After the nursing process regarding the Ice Massage intervention on Ny. R to reduce pain intensity for two days, the patient's pain level decreased from a scale of 5 to 2 on the second day after the intervention. Discussion: Ice massage can provide changes to the skin, subcutaneous tissue, intramuscular and joint temperature, because it has anti-inflammatory and vascular vasodilation properties, thereby reducing pain levels
