PENGARUH TERPAAN PEMBERITAAN COVID-19 DI MEDIA ONLINE KOMPAS.COM TERHADAP PERILAKU MEMATUHI PROTOKOL KESEHATAN MAHASISWA (Studi pada Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang Angkatan 2018)

Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, news about Covid-19 has been widely discussed, online media has continued to be intensive and almost every day reports various events and all information related to Covid-19. The large number of news about Covid-19 in online media affects the thinking patterns to the behavior of news connoisseurs. Like Kompas.com who became a media with a high level of trust also provided a number of Covid-19 news on a regular basis. There are two variables in this study, namely Variable X reported by Covid-19 news in online media Kompas.com and Variable Y behavior in complying with student health protocols. This study is quantifiable with associative-correlational types and bases. The total population was 65 respondents, namely active students of Communication Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Malang class of 2018. This study used a simple linear regression analysis technique. The results of the hypothesis test study, it is known that there is an influence of covid-19 news exposure in online media Kompas.com on the behavior of complying with student health protocols with the results of the T test known to be calculated T values of 2.967 > 1.998 as T tables which means Ha is accepted, in addition there is a positive correlation influence with a significant amount of 0.004 < 0.05 between Variable X and variable Y with a fairly strong correlation degree. The magnitude of variable Y affected by Variable X in this study was 12.3% while the remaining 87.7% was influenced by other variables outside the study
