ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN GERONTIK PADA Ny.Ag DENGAN HIPERTENSI MENGGUNAKAN TERAPI RELAKSASI OTOT PROGRESIF(Studi Kasus Di Kecamatan Lowokwaru Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kendalsari)

Background : Elderly people are people who experience a degenerative process in physical function. The elderly experience a decline in cells that affect the body's abilities such as the nervous system, heart, and blood vessels so that the elderly are susceptible to diseases such as high blood pressure. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is that the author is able to understand the concept of hypertension and is able to provide gerontic nursing care for Mrs. Ag with hypertension. Methods: The assessment was carried out on April 11, 2022 for 30 minutes in the Kendalsari Public Health Center Malang Working Area. Based on field observations, diagnosis can be made based on the SDKI, namely: the second nursing problem is the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion. The therapy provided was in the form of counseling materials about progressive muscle relaxation technique booklets and demonstrations related to progressive muscle relaxation techniques. Results : The results obtained after progressive muscle relaxation therapy with a duration of 10 minutes for 1 day. The client's high blood pressure has decreased to 160/100 mmHg. Blood pressure before treatment was 170/100 mmHg. Discussion: Progressive muscle relaxation is a movement for stretching and relaxing muscles. Progressive muscle relaxation can reduce peripheral resistance and increase blood vessel elasticity so that blood circulation can circulate oxygen optimally, and is a vasodilator that can widen blood vessels and lower blood pressure
