ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN GERONTIK PADA NY.E DENGAN GOUT ATHRITIS DI PUSKESMAS MULYOREJO MALANG

Background : Gout arthritis is a disease that arises due to the presence of excess purine substances, which can not be processed by the body and there is also a pile of monosodium urate crystals in the body. If action is not immediately given or treated, it will cause complications such as lumps in the joints (Tofi), kidney stones, severe degenerative disease, secondary infection, coronary heart disease, diabetes mellitus, and fractures in the joints. Methods: The writing of this final scientific paper for nurses uses a research design with a case study approach to find out more about the nursing problems of Gout Athritis patients at the Mulyorejo Public Health Center, Malang. The case study method uses nursing care, namely a series of individual nursing processes for patients diagnosed with Gout Arthritis by assessing, establishing nursing diagnoses, preparing plans, carrying out nursing actions and evaluating patients. Results: After the assessment was carried out, the results were 9.8 mg/dl uric acid, the researchers raised 2 nursing diagnoses, namely: Acute Pain related to physiological injury agents, Knowledge Deficit about Gout Athritis associated with lack of exposure to information. Of the two nursing care problems that arise, the diagnosis of acute pain is a priority diagnosis. The results of the intervention showed that pain was reduced from a scale of 4 to a scale of 3. Discussion: The intervention that has been given is pain management by giving warm compresses and deep breathing techniques to reduce knee pain. Implementation is carried out in accordance with nursing intervention planning.
