In order to accelerate regional integration, ASEAN agreed on regional cooperation in the tourism sector by establishing the ATF (ASEAN Tourism Forum). ATF agreed on an ATSP (ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan) policy with the aim of developing tourism potential in the Southeast Asian region. The policies issued have contributed to the interests of countries in ASEAN in the policy-making process related to health tourism, including Thailand as one of the potential health tourism countries in the Southeast Asia region.
