PENGALAMAN KELUARGA DALAM MERAWAT PENDERITA DENGAN PENYAKIT PPOK

The experience of the family caring for this patient aims to prevent someone from quitting smoking, so that the family can treat exacerbations. With this prevention, it is hoped that the family can take care of the client and be able to increase the confidence that the individual will be better able to manage his illness. Families who care for patients with COPD have high self-confidence so that it is easier to carry out the ability to behave towards health. Purpose : To find out the family's experience in treating COPD patients, Sumberejo village. This research is a qualitative research with Case Study Research. Participants in this research are (1) patients with COPD (2) Wives of patients (3) Children of patients. Results: The study found 4 themes (1) treatment of COPD patients (2) changes in body weight (3) Difficulty caring for COPD patients (4) Bringing patients to the hospital for COPD treatment. Discussion: From this study, the family's experience in caring for COPD patients was given from the family, where the support included the provision of drugs and treatment plans within their capabilities, the most important thing was that families needed to know how to apply knowledge about self-management to the lives of COPD patients
