KEBUDAYAAN MASYARAKAT BALI DALAM NOVEL KOPLAK KARYA OKA RUSMINI: KAJIAN ANTROPOLOGI SASTRA

Culture is a system of thought and action, as well as works created by humans in social life. Problems related to culture have been raised in many literary novels, one of which is the novel Koplak by Oka Rusmini. The Balinese culture described by Oka Rusmini in the novel Koplak is very interesting to study, because in the novel it is told about elements of Balinese culture and the dynamics of culture that have emerged with the development of the times. This can be used as an illustration for readers to always participate in the preservation of Balinese culture as well as to protect, develop, and utilize ancestraltraditions. Based on this, the formulation of the problem in this study is (1) What are the elements of Balinese culture in the novel Koplak by Oka Rusmini, (2) How is the dynamics of Balinese culture in the novel Koplak by Oka Rusmini. This research used in this study is qualitative with a literary anthropology approach. The researcher collected the data from the novel Koplak by Oka Rusmini. Which amounts to 185 pages. Then the novel was published by “PT Grasindo”. The data obtained in this study relates to the issues raised, namely the elements of culture and the dynamics of culture that exist in Balinese society. The data procedure used the speaking and listening techniques. Checking the validity of the findings using peer-reviewed techniques with the aim of strengthening the results of the study. The data analysis technique was carried out in three ways, namely data reduction, data presentation, and ended with drawing conclusions. The results of the research found that there were five cultural elements contained in the novel Koplak by Oka Rusmini including, (1) language system through the use of kinship language and inter-ethnic mixing, (2) social organization through traditional Balinese rules, (3) knowledge systems about irrigation, food innovation, and about leadership, (4) livelihoods in the agricultural, plantation and culinary sectors, (5) religious system through activities related to religion. In addition, it was also found related to the dynamics of culture which was shown through two points of view, namely (1) foreign culture that began to develop in Balinese society, and (2) the influence of the globalization era on Balinese culture
