PENGALAMAN KEGAGALAN DALAM MENYUSUI PADA IBU DI DESA PANDAAN KABUPATEN PASURUAN PROVINSI JAWA TIMUR

Background : Breastfeeding is a natural process, almost all mothers can breastfeed their babies without help from others. But in reality not all mothers can breastfeed with the correct breastfeeding technique. Factors that influence the success of breastfeeding include age, parity, education, employment status, breast problems, gestational age and weight. The benefits of exclusive breastfeeding include good development for children, digestive, emotional, economic, immunological, social and others. However, as is the practice of offering exclusive breastfeeding, there are obstacles experienced by breastfeeding mothers to achieve success in offering breast milk for 6 months. In developing countries, it is the most experienced low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. Research objectives: this study uses qualitative research with a case study approach, data collection methods use interviews conducted with semi-structured interview techniques and observations. Research design: qualitative is research that results in data collection, data analysis which is then interpreted. Data were collected with three participants, namely the patient as participant 1, the patient's father as participant 2, and the patient's mother as participant 3. The results of this study often did not come out of breast milk, the failure of breastfeeding was caused by maternal factors, environmental factors, and obtained 6 themes: 1 Lack of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding 2. Adhering to traditional culture 3. Surrounding environment. Discussion: family barriers to breastfeeding failure are the experience of families who always provide motivational support, enthusiasm for breastfeeding success
